MIAMI (AP) – A South Florida doctor who died about two weeks after receiving the COfID-19 Pfizer vaccine died in a manner that was classified as natural, a doctor’s office official said Wednesday legist.

Dr. Gregory Michael died of a condition that could cause internal bleeding and there is no medical certainty that the shooting caused the disorder, according to an email from Darren Caprara, chief operating officer of the Miami-Dade County Medical Examination Department. .

Michael’s death in January was investigated by the Florida Department of Health and the Federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Evidence from an autopsy was sent to the CDC.

“Scientific and clinical expertise in vaccine safety, immunology, infectious diseases, hematology, pathology and laboratory sciences were part of the investigation team or were frequently consulted,” Caprara said.

The investigation team concluded that Michael died from complications of immune thrombocytopenia, also known as ITP, a disorder that can prevent blood clotting and cause internal bleeding. Michael died in January of the disorder, more than two weeks after he was shot.

Michael, 56, was a private obstetrician at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach.
