The Red Sox lie on Raze

BOSTON – Randy Arozarena miscalculated a flyover by JD Martinez, which turned into a two-stage double, and the Boston Red Sox defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 6-5 on Tuesday night.

The Rays looked on their way to victory before Christian Vázquez found a 0-2 ground for Dominican Diego Castillo and hit the ball over the “Green Monster” for a homer that equalized in the ninth inning.

Martinez hit an RBI double in the eighth inning for the Red Sox, who secured their second win after starting the season 0-3.

Manuel Margot managed a two-stage single for the Rays, which blew a good six-run effort from starter Tyler Glasnow. Tampa Bay lost its first game of the 11-2 series on Monday and lost three.

The rays took the lead in the top of the 12th half.

With two starters and runners on the second and third after a wild pass from Ryan Thompson, Martinez threw the ball into the right field. Cuban Arozarena turned and threw back to the fence while the ball went over his head for the decisive shot.

The victory went to the Dominican Phillips Valdez (1-0).

For the Rays, Cubans Yandy Díaz scored 5-0 with a run, Arozarena 5-1 with an RBI. Dominicans Margot 5-1 with two RBIs, Willy Adames 5-2 with one RBI, Francisco Mejía 3-1.

For the Red Sox, the Mexican Alex Verdugo won 4-1 with two goals scored. Dominicans Rafael Devers 5-2, Francy Cordero 2-1. Puerto Rican Vázquez 4-1 with a score and an RBI, Kiké Hernández 3-0. Venezuelan Marwin González 5-0.
