The Metropolitan Archbishop of Santo Domingo, Monsignor Francisco Ozoria, officiated the Easter Sunday Mass at the Primary Cathedral of America, where he lamented the unfulfilled promises of those most in need.
“To believe in the risen Jesus is to reveal with all our might to so many people who have known in this life only misery, humiliation and suffering, which are forgotten forever,” said the monsignor in a temple full of parishioners who I celebrate Jesus Resurrection.
He added that “believing in the resurrected means hopefully addressing so many unhealthy, chronically ill, disabled and depressed people who are tired of hearing the promises of change. One day they will know what it is like to live in total peace and health, they will listen to the words of the Father fulfilling his promise to enter forever into the joy of your Lord.
People of all ages, including full and foreign families, filled the church this Sunday, culminating in Semana Mayor.
It was also attended by all members of the Cathedral choir, who dressed in red and white chanting psalms and songs.
Joy
Two nuns filled the Cathedral with joy, shouting, “You do not know what Christ has risen,” and so the faithful present chanted, “Hallelujah, Christ is risen early on Sunday morning,” always clapping their hands.
