Jewel-Osco offers customers the choice of COVID – NBC Chicago vaccines

Jewel-Osco offers its customers the opportunity to choose between the coronavirus vaccine for which they would like to make an appointment.

The food chain gives customers the option to choose which vaccine they would like when looking for an appointment, when they are available.

On the company’s vaccine planner, customers can choose whether to check appointments with Pfizer or Moderna double-shot vaccines or Johnson & Johnson single-shot vaccine.

“Osco Drug Pharmacy offers customers a range of vaccines based on the allocation they receive,” a company spokesman told NBC 5. “We are adding appointments for the Johnson & Johnson vaccine as the offer becomes available.”

Although there are many options for residents to seek coronavirus vaccinations, many do not offer a choice of vaccine.

This could change, however, as Illinois expects an influx of vaccine supplies in the coming days.

According to Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker, Johnson & Johnson vaccine doses are expected to rise sharply “very soon.”

“We expect to see a significant number, with millions of doses of Johnson & Johnson vaccine set to begin very soon in the next few days,” the governor said at an unrelated news conference on Friday. “And then, hopefully, a sustained increase in Johnson & Johnson, and we will continue to see an increase in Pfizer and Moderna.”
