Héctor Acosta and other senators sign a pro-life document

Santo Domingo, RD.

Senators from various parties signed a document on Thursday expressing their support for life in all its stages.

The letter, led by Ramón Rogelio Genao, senator for La Vega province for the Christian Social Reform Party (PRSC), also has the final part with the announcement of Senator Héctor Acosta, “El Torito”, who in recent days posted on Twitter in favor of all three reasons.

“I support the 3 causes, period. This country must eliminate everything as a theory and focus on action. Churches that focus on bringing the word of God to the temples and not encouraging violence by calling for marches. Let’s pray, “he said at the time.

Speaking to Listín Diario by phone, El Torito said that with the video he later posted apologizing for his words, he showed his support for the position of preserving life in all circumstances.

He indicated that no one made him change his mind and that, rather, in the shared video, he rethought his position.

The document motivated by Rogelio Genao states that “We, the senators elected by the vote of the Dominican people, belong to the different political parties represented in the National Congress that makes up the party system in the Dominican Republic. Convinced that human life is a fundamental, inalienable and universal right, which is supported and constitutionally recognized in Article 37 of the Constitution of the Republic, we established this manifesto to reaffirm with our vote, the commitment to human life in all its stages.

The document is signed by Rogelio Genao and Héctor Acosta of Senators Milciades Franjul, Dionis Sánchez, David Sosa, Félix Bautista, Antonio Marte, Virgilio Cedano, Lia Díaz, Eddy Nolasco, José Antonio Castillo, Alexis Victoria yeb, Cristóbal Castillo, Ricardo de los Santos, Iván José Silva and Valentín Medrano.

On behalf of Dr. Franklin Peña, the following message can be read: “I do not agree only when pregnancy is the product of rape.”
