BARCELONA – Rafael Márquez will have to wait a few months to find out if he will have the opportunity to return to Barcelona this time as Barcelona’s youth football coach, according to various sources reported on ESPN.
No major decision will be made at the Barça club until July, so the arrival of the Mexican, if it takes place, would take into account the next season.
Márquez was one of the former footballers from Barcelona who publicly thanked Joan Laporta in the last election campaign, thus restoring the trust that the president gave him in 2003, when he hired him for the club in Monaco.
Until a few days ago, Márquez was enrolled in the lower categories of Alacalá, the club in Madrid where he led cadet A since November last year and yesterday he took advantage of social networks to publicly announce his decision.
The Mexican wasted no time in closing his boots and preparing to continue to be connected to the world of football. He has UEFA coach A’s and B’s licenses, although he is still working to finish modeling the Pro License, which would open the doors to professional banks.
Márquez is currently in Mexico, although he plans to return to Spain in the coming weeks to continue his training and is looking forward to starting training for next season. Barça? We will see.
