A former lieutenant in a strong Mexican drug cartel who broke away from the gang appeared – wrapped in plastic on a park bench.
Mexican authorities say they believe the body found in a Jalisco park last week is that of Carlos “El Cholo” Enrique Sanchez, a former member of the new Jalisco cartel before parting ways to form his own gang in 2017. , Mexico News Daily said.
Police said the body was found in Jardin Hidalgo on Thursday, with two signs fixed on its body with knives, including one that read in Spanish, “the traitor El Cholo”, the newspaper says.
The body has not been officially identified, but comes after a video posted online showed that the handcuffed narcissist is being held in front of the armed members of the Jalisco cartel – claiming that he cooperated with the police.
“This material confirms the existence of an orchestrated strategy to destabilize the state by an organized crime group,” said Jalisco Attorney General Gerardo Octavio Solis Gomez. “Everything indicates that he is … Carlos Sanchez Martinez, nicknamed ‘El Cholo.'”
According to the Mexican News Daily, Sanchez left the Jalisco cartel and formed his own drug gang, the Nuevo Plaza Cartel.
The two gangs have since been at war for control of methamphetamine trafficking in Guadalajara and other parts of central Mexico.
