Tegucigalpa, Honduras
More than 40 hours after the polls closed last Sunday, March 14 atHonduras primary and domestic elections, continues the slowness in announcing the first election results. Now the theft of storage disks and internet hacks are reported before the report is scanned.
The candidate for the presidency of the Partido Libertad and Refundación (Libre), Carlos Eduardo Reina, denounced what happened on his social networks.
“Report scanner hard disk was stolen from National Electoral Council (CNE) and cut the fiber optic rings. More than 40 hours after the closing of the Electoral Reception Boards (MER), this is happening, “Reina wrote on Twitter.
The complaint arose from inside the CNE cellars. The main internet cable was cut, and the hard disks of the computer systems were stolen.
Earlier, CNE councilor Rixi Moncada said that on Monday evening, the nationalist leader Fernando Anduray came to the polling stations where the ballot boxes are received and threatened her and the technical staff not to open the boxes with the minutes.
The 2021 primary and internal elections in Honduras took place on March 14, in the absence of a system for the transmission of preliminary election results (TREP), uncertainty increased due to the fact that the CNE has not yet published official data.
