Michigan coronavirus cases up to 612,628; The death toll is now 15,810

The number of confirmed cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in Michigan has risen to 612,628 since Tuesday, including 15,810 deaths, state officials said.

Tuesday’s update includes a total of 2,048 new cases and 27 additional deaths, including six from a Vital Records analysis. On Monday, the state reported a total of 610,580 cases and 15,783 deaths.

Testing was constant around 35,000 diagnostic tests reported on average per day, with a positive rate of 7 days over 5% since Monday. The state has reported a slight increase in hospitalizations in the past two weeks.

The 7-day moving average in Michigan for daily cases was 1,795 months – an increase from last week. The average 7-day death was 15 months. The fatality rate of the state is 2.6%. The state also reports “active cases”, which were listed at 38,100 months – close to the lowest level in October. More than 556,000 have recovered in Michigan.

Michigan reported more than 3 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine were given, starting Monday.

According to Johns Hopkins University, more than 29.5 million cases have been reported in the United States., with more than 535,000 dead reported by the virus.

All over the world, more than 120 million people have been confirmed infected and more than 2.6 million died. More than 68 million were recovered, according to Johns Hopkins University. The real numbers are certainly much higher, due to limited testing, of the different ways in which nations count deaths and under the deliberate reporting of governments.
