Prince Philip leaves the British hospital after a month

British Prince Philip, the husband of Queen Elizabeth II, aged 99, left a hospital in London early on Tuesday, after 28 days of heart surgery and treatment – his longest stay.

Philip – who is due to turn 100 in June – was photographed looking pale and thin as he was kicked out of King Edward VII’s private hospital at 10:30 p.m.

Hospital staff set up a white folding screen next to his BMW to protect his eyesight and dozens of police officers blocked the route, according to The Times of London.

Philip was first taken to Central London Hospital on February 16 as a “precautionary measure” and was treated for an infection.

He was later transferred to a specialized cardiac care hospital, St. Bartholomew’s, where he underwent a “successful” heart operation before returning to King Edward VII.

Philip is expected to return to Windsor Castle, where he and the queen were in a so-called “HMS Bubble” during the coronavirus pandemic. Buckingham Palace has not yet commented on the matter.

His disease is not related to coronavirus and both he and the queen received COVID-19 vaccinations in January.

Philip’s hospital stay coincided with the monarchy thrown into crisis by the harmful claims made by Prince Harry’s nephew and Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle’s wife.

The special moment of television aroused indignation and calls for it to be postponed, given that the aged king was still being treated in a hospital.

Philip is the longest-serving royal consort in British history after marrying Princess Elizabeth in 1947. They have four children, eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
