Passenger dies of heart attack at AILA

An American citizen died of a heart attack on Monday on arrival at Las Americas International Airport from New York.

This is Juan Sarom Batista, 71 years old, who arrived in the country this Monday at around 4pm on a JetBlue Airways flight.

According to the medical report, the man died on the way to a routine check in the immigration room.

According to reports, the passenger developed severe pain in his chest and collapsed moments later.

From the migration room, where a medical force on duty with the AILA assisted him, he was taken to the emergency room, but attempts to save his life were futile.

Sarom is Dominican, but a citizen of the United States, according to data provided by AILA authorities.

The body was taken to the airport morgue, where the death certificate was awaited.
