
In news that will surely make you feel old, God of War II celebrates its 14th anniversary this weekend. The game – released on PlayStation 2 after PS3 launch – is widely regarded as a classic, with its set pieces larger than the life and overall mastery of Sony hardware. He also saw Cory Barlog take over the reins from director David Jaffe.
And writing further Twitter, admitted that “he has no idea what the hell I was doing all the time”. He added: “Every day I felt like I was thrown into the opening night of the stage to perform a musical I hadn’t even heard of, let alone repeated. Fortunately, I was inspired at every step by a brilliant team. ”

Eventually, Barlog left Sony Santa Monica and worked at several different studios, including Crystal Dynamics and Avalanche, before returning to the PlayStation to lead the series’ recent award-winning reboot. As for what’s working now, well, we know that God of War Ragnarok is around the corner – but it looks like the developer has a lot more up its sleeve.
