CALIFORNIA.- After participating in a water accident, the famous actor Cliff Simon, died at the age of 58 in Topanga Beach, California, the Daily Mail reported.
The British press reported that it was Collete Simon, the actor’s wife, who posted on her Facebook account that the performer “Ba’al” from the science fiction series “Stargate SG-1”, lost her life last Tuesday, in a kitesurfing accident.
According to the biography published by the Daily Mail, Simon was a competitive swimmer and aspires to the Olympic Games before launching his acting career.
He was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, and moved to the United States in 2000, after a period in the United Kingdom.
He has appeared with characters in shows such as “Americans”, “NCIS: New Orleans”, “Castle” and “Days of Our Lives”.
“I act is what I do, it’s just a part of who I am”, said the actor in an interview while playing “Ba’al”, the villain he liked to hate in the series “Stargate SG-1”, a character who appeared from the fifth to the tenth and last season, in the years 2001-2007.

“Ba’al” appeared in 15 episodes and became a hit with fans due to his ingenious behavior and developed motivations of the character.
In a 2005 interview with The Sci-Fi World, Simon claimed to have met with the producers of “Stargate SG-1” eight months before the character “Ba’al” was created.
He assured that the meeting went so well that the executive producers, Robert C. Cooper and Brad Wright, who decided to keep him waiting for about eight months until they created “Ba’al” to suit their abilities.
The series was a spinoff of the 1994 science fiction film, “Stargate,” in which the United States government discovers the title’s devices, which can transport users to other worlds in an instant.
