The US Embassy donated 200,000 units of syringes to the Dominican Republic to bolster National Vaccination Day against COVID-19.
The donation was made, through the Emergency Operations Center (COE), by the US Southern Command to bolster the actions taken by the Dominican Republic to eradicate COVID-19.
COE Director General Juan Manuel Méndez thanked the embassy on behalf of President Luis Abinader and Vice President Raquel Peña for donating the syringes that will significantly boost vaccination day.
Meanwhile, Health Minister Daniel Rivera pointed out the fraternity and collaboration between the COE and the Ministry and thanked the supply of the syringes.
“Vice President Raquel Peña, in her capacity as Chair of the Health Cabinet, is very pleased with this donation and for us it represents a major contribution to the country,” the minister said in his speech.
