A new set of renderings claims to present the design of the next generation of the third AirPod, which could be announced in a rumor about the Apple event at the end of this month.
Renders were shared by Gizmochina, which claims to have received renderings from a “provider”. The images depict irAirPods with a shorter stem, similar to AirPods Pro, and a smaller loading case. This information is in line with the reporting from Bloomberg which states that the design of the new AirPods is inspired by AirPods Pro, although they will lack certain Pro features, such as Active Noise Cancellation.
Renders should be taken with a grain of salt. However, the images were shared by the Twitter account @ Duanrui1205, who in the past shared accurate information, possibly adding validity to it. Renders also fall in line with supposed real-life images of future “AirPods”, which show them with a smaller rod and replaceable ear tips.
Earlier this week, Chinese leaker “Kang” reported that Apple plans to host the long-awaited spring event on March 23. The event will be the title of AirTags, of the new iPad models and possibly the third generation AirPods-. Apple is also working on the second-generation AirPods Pro, which is rumored to be more compact, removing the stem and adopting a headset design similar to the Galaxy and Google Buds.
