The radio division of the Listín Diario group was honored in the last Gardo award ceremony, which took place on Sunday, in a ceremony broadcast by 4RD (channel 4) and internationally through TV Quisqueya.
“Music at 12”, took the statuette for the best music program, and his voice and producer, Octavio Beras, for the best music director.
Similarly, Reynaldo Infante and Cinthia Ortiz won the award for producer / producer for their work in “Camino al sol”, both spaces broadcast by station 97.7. Likewise, Ortiz triumphed in the Conductor / Conductor line, for the aforementioned program, while Infante in the Animator Content / Soft Music line.
“It is extremely interesting to see how every day more people, especially young people, want to learn more about good music. It’s very gratifying, “said Beras, who places genres such as jazz or bossa nova in his space, which are not so popular today.
He is responsible for this space, which was broadcast from 12:00 to 2:00 in the afternoon, for 15 years, after the death of his father, Octavio Augusto Beras Goico Guzmán, better known as “Tutín”, who started in 2001.
He expresses that this award, his second in a row, commits him to following his father’s legacy and that, therefore, maintaining the level and quality is a daily action. “With quality music and tradition, trying to reach the largest number of people every day,” says Octavio Beras, and that this recognition is also transmitted to his listeners.
For their part, Infante and Ortiz, who together with Sobeida Ramírez welcome the new day from 7:00 to 9:00 in the morning, feel with this award committed to continue to deepen their content proposal, relying on a human radio, educational and development cultural. “And at the same time, it’s still fun,” says Infante.
The space reaches its ninth anniversary in 2021, at a time when technology has allowed easier access to content dissemination and global coverage. “The challenge that all of us who work in the media have is to prepare better, to be updated, to understand how the public moves and to understand their communication codes”, considers the announcer, who understands that there is a wonderful moment for those who want to trade.

“Music rewards radio” was the leitmotif of the second edition of this award,
that this year, which is why the gala was led by performers Diomary La Mala, Juliana O’Neal and Nipo.
Singers, musicians and composers were tasked with announcing the nominees, who numbered 350 this year, and the winners of the statuettes, which totaled 63. The ceremony featured musical segments, special interventions in a production aimed at improving Dominican radio.
The production was responsible for the content industry, a company chaired by Juan Carlos Albelo, which instituted the Gardo Award last year. “We are very happy to have celebrated an award that belongs to the people, who have been tasked with the correct nomination of those they consider worthy of recognition,” Albelo explained.
That night, special awards were given such as “Gardo al Acknowledgment”, which recognized the broadcaster Francisco Micheli (La Romana), as well as the careers of Magali Santana and Simón Alfonso Pemberton.
Similarly, a tribute was paid to the career of broadcaster Cuqui Medrano, with the posthumous Gardo award.
This year’s opening ceremony featured a musical number of radio talents such as Juan Carlos Pichardo, Diana Filpo, Gerald Ogando and Gnómico, who composed the song, which was produced by singer Nipo. Together they played a trap that paid tribute to Dominican radio.
As part of the musical pieces, The Accordion Barbie, The Accordion Maiden and The Divine Girls performed a typical meringue based on the traditional harmonic musical instrument.
