The unexpected hooded sweetheart of this year’s awards season, Jason Sudeikis, continued his offensive charm at the Critics Choice Awards, where he gave a sweet shout to former Olivia Wilde.
After a strong presentation at last week’s Golden Globes, the Apple TV + series “Ted Lasso” won several more awards at the 26th annual ceremony on Sunday night, with Sudeikis taking home the trophies for best actor in a comedy series and the best comedy series.
Accepting this last award in a fresh sweatshirt, Sudeikis corrected the course of his somewhat lively Globes speech with a handful of direct thanks to the cast and crew of the show before addressing his ex and their two children, Otis, 6 years old, and Daisy, 4 years old.
“I want to thank my children, Otis and Daisy. I want to thank their mother, Otis, and Daisy’s mother, Olivia, who came up with the idea for a TV show, “Sudeikis said in his acceptance speech. “He said, ‘You and Brendan [Hunt] and Joe [Kelly] as if you were doing so much, you should do it like a movie or a TV show. I was like, “No.” She was right. “
Before signing, Sudeikis explained why “Ted Lasso,” who is currently filming his second season in London, was a welcome relief in this “bottom year.”
“This was a wonderful vessel to hear people’s stories of forgiveness and redemption, healing and understanding,” he shared. “It’s very, very flattering to have the opportunity to share something … that means something to you. Know that this means a lot to us. β
After the ceremony, Wilde returned the favor, celebrating the gain on social networks, while mentioning the attention on his award-winning clothing.
“Congratulations to Jason and the entire Ted Lasso family for your victory @CriticsChoice. So happy for you guys, βshe said posted on Twitter. “I hope this means that we will all wear sweatshirts when the ceremonies are present next year. π β
Sudeikis and Wilde went their separate ways in early 2020, ending their commitment after nine years together, People reported in November.
Since giving up, the two have managed to remain amicable and have agreed to co-parent the two children. Both sides have reportedly moved on, as Wilde recently began dating Harry Styles after the pair released her on the set of her upcoming film “Don’t Worry Darling”, while Sudeikis was linked to British model Keeley. Hazell.
In a lively post about her film work last month, Wilde made her first public comment about the singer since their romance appeared in the title, writing that she “blew us every day” on set.
Meanwhile, Sudeikis remained silent about his new love story.
