Dustin Diamond, the star of Tragic Saved By The Bell, was “never legally married” to former Jennifer Misner, according to a newly obtained death certificate.
The actor, best known for his role as Screech in high school comedy, died at the age of 44 at home in Florida on February 1, after a brief battle with lung cancer.
But a death certificate obtained by TMZ states that Diamond never married – despite many fans who believed he changed his vows with Misner in 2009 before divorcing in 2013.

The actor also wore a wedding ring before his death, but close friend Dan Block, president of Insurance Kings, insisted that the ring was just a way to show his dedication to Misner during their relationship.
Block also told the publication that Diamond was increasingly frustrated by Wikipedia because he incorrectly stated that he married Misner.
The actor died just three weeks after being diagnosed with small cell lung cancer in the fourth stage.

Speaking in 2012, Diamond referred to Misner as his wife, while talking about marriage during an interview with CityTV in October 2012.
Holding his wedding finger up, he said, “Happy wife, happy life friend! That’s the way to do it! ‘
The former couple, who met in Pennsylvania, had previously suffered a heart attack after Misner had a miscarriage in 2004.
Diamond’s last girlfriend, known as Tash, 39, told DailyMail.com exclusively: “He was the love of my life. We planned a future together and often talked about having children. I have a broken heart. ‘

She also shared with DailyMail.com exclusive photos with her mini-Yorkie, named Fin, who visits him in the hospital and the couple holding hands.
Tash, a certified pharmacy technician, said she was devastated and her whole world was turned upside down. But she said she would appreciate the last time he could talk to her – just a day before she died.
“Even though he was struggling to breathe and had difficulty speaking, he managed to get the words out, ‘I love you,’ and I told him I loved him back.
Tash said, “Dustin died at our friend Jules’ house in Fort Meyers, Florida.”

He has been hospitalized since January and was just released Monday around noon and was taken to their friend’s house by medical staff for hospice care.
Diamond was still in his pocket in the front room of the house, while the hospice worker and their friend, Jules, were preparing his bedroom when Tash found him not breathing.
He was soon pronounced dead by emergency personnel.
