“He was a beloved son, brother and grandson,” Alto said. “At the moment we are gathering all the facts that led to his untimely death and we have no interest in commenting on speculation.”
“The International Brotherhood is shocked and outraged by this incident,” the International Brotherhood said in a statement. “The Brotherhood has a zero tolerance policy towards illegal activities, drug abuse, bullying and any form of hazing.”
The BGSU chapter was placed on “administrative suspension,” the fraternity added. “We will also seek permanent suspension from the Delta Beta Chapter, as well as the expulsion of all Chapter members from the International Fraternity.
A BGSU spokesperson told CNN it has also placed its chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha on preliminary suspension.
“Local law enforcement and university investigations are underway,” Alex Solis, a BGSU spokesperson, said in an email statement to CNN. “However, I can confirm that we have temporarily suspended Pi Kappa Alpha for alleged hazing.”
“BGSU is committed not only to conducting college students and law enforcement investigations, but also to a full investigation of the prevention and compliance responsibilities of every Greek chapter under the university’s policy prohibiting hazing,” the university wrote.
Duncan Faulk, Foltz’s freshman roommate at BGSU, was mourning his friend.
Foltz’s family was able to donate his organs, Alto said.
