Florida teachers, school staff and child care workers can receive COVID-19 vaccine here

Under the new federal guidelines, teachers and other school staff are now eligible to receive the coronavirus vaccine, and there are a number of locations in Florida where they can obtain photos.

Under the eligibility of the new federal vaccine, President Joe Biden is working to inoculate people working with children by the end of March.

An executive order from Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis limits the vaccine to class teachers over the age of 50 who work in kindergarten through 12th grade, but federal guidelines allow day care workers, preschoolers and educators from the primary, secondary and high schools to be vaccinated the age limit.

Below is a list of places that offer the vaccine to those individuals in accordance with federal guidelines.

CVS

According to the CVS website, 24 pharmacies in Florida can provide photos. Central Florida locations include Daytona Beach, Haines City and Lakeland. Appointments can be made by clicking or tapping here.

The website now lists openings for K-12 teachers and staff, full-time employees and preschoolers.

“We have aligned ourselves with the updated guidelines of the Federal Retail Pharmacy Program, making appointments available for pre-K up to 12 educators and child care staff and workers in all 17 states where we currently offer COVID vaccines. -19 “, said a CVS spokesperson.

Publix

Starting March 4, all Florida child care teachers, teachers and school staff will be eligible to make an appointment at Publix pharmacies across the country. Appointments are made available through the online reservation system at publix.com/covidvaccine every Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning, as long as the grocer continues to receive doses of vaccine from state and federal governments.

Walmart

Walmart has also modified its website to include K-12 teachers and staff, day workers and preschool workers without age restrictions.

The company has issued the following statement on the change:

“We will administer the vaccines to those who are eligible, as determined by the state and federal governments. As patients’ eligibility requirements for COVID-19 vaccines expand, we will update our internal processes and online planning system to reflect these changes as soon as possible. ”

Winn-Dixie

Winn-Dixie has also expanded its vaccine eligibility requirements to include K-12 educators and child care workers of all ages and medically vulnerable people.

FEMA vaccination site at Valencia College

The federally administered vaccination site at 1800 South Kirkman Road in Orlando, on the Valencia College West Campus, provides vaccines to the workers mentioned above, including K-12 teachers, child care staff and other school employees.

Those who are eligible to receive the vaccine can pre-register by clicking or tapping here, however, walk-ups are also accepted.

The site will operate between 7:00 and 19:00 every day and is expected to remain open for at least eight weeks, according to the Orlando Police Department.

Orange County Convention Center

All K-12 educators and child care workers can now be vaccinated at the Orange County Convention Center, according to the county’s website.

The vaccination site at the Orange County Convention Center has the resources to provide up to 3,000 photos a day, and vaccinations are by appointment only. Appointments can be made here.
