Emotional distinction for several women in active military service

The Vice President of the Republic, Raquel Peña, First Lady Raquel Arbaje and the General Staff of the Armed Forces, yesterday led an act of recognition of the “Dominican Military Woman”, with the distinction of nine ladies who stood out for their valuable contributions and development in organizations at which are attached. The event took place on the occasion of the “International Women’s Day”, which will be celebrated on March 8.

The joint ceremony was organized by the Associations of the Wives of Armed Forces Officers, led by Wendy Santos de Díaz, and by the gender equality directorates of the military corps.

Honored

Two representatives of the Ministry of Defense (MIDE) were honored and an equal amount for each military force, and a special distinction was awarded to a military member of the Air Force for her support in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic.

They all excelled in areas such as education, health, infantry, aviation, citizen and border security. Corporal Queila Moya Gil and Sergeant María Dolores Méndez Jiménez (FARD) were recognized. For the Army, Lieutenant Colonel Ana Rosa Fabián Moreno and Lieutenant Ana Dairhy Correa (ERD).

For the Navy, Captain Ysa Liliana Matos Bello and the military assimilated Ángela María Segura de Óleo.

Lieutenant Colonel Lee Geady Mateo Ramírez and Sergeant Major Yajaira Clemente Vizcaíno were also recognized by the Air Force.
