Sharon Van Etten announced epic Ten—A double album celebrating her 2010 LP epic. The double album includes the original album and a cover LP with Fiona Apple, Lucinda Williams, Big Red Machine, Courtney Barnett with Vagabon and many more. Today (March 4), Van Etten released the cover of “A Crime” by Justin Vernon and Aaron Dessner. Check it out below and scroll down for the full list of songs.
“Sharon is one of my favorite composers and I’ve been very fortunate to collaborate with her many times over the years,” Dessner said in a press release. “Recording ‘A Crime’ with Justin, more than 10 years after we treated ‘Love More’ to MusicNOW with my brother Bryce – and we thought about all our shared memories – felt like a complete circle. It’s an honor to be able to pay homage to Sharon and her incredible songs. I felt that the door should fall off the hinges of this version and I think that sounds like it. ”
epic Ten is available digitally April 16 and physically June 11 through Ba Da Bing. Every Thursday before epic TenVan Etten’s release will share the album’s next cover.
Van Etten also announced Ten epic: documentary and concert which will benefit Zebulon in Los Angeles. The film, which airs on April 16 and 17, features Van Etten and her band epic entirely at Zebulon.
