Jackie Bradley Jr. signs a $ 24 million deal with the Brewers after the Mets flirtation

Despite the interest reported by the Mets, Jackie Bradley Jr. takes his talents to Milwaukee.

The former Red Sox outfielder signs a two-year, $ 24 million contract with the Brewers, according to ESPN. The agreement includes a waiver after the first year.

Bradley Jr. is considered one of the best defensive outfielders in the league, after winning a gold glove in 2018 and being the best outfield that remained in the free agency. His bat is tighter, with an average career of .239, but hit .283 with seven runs in the shortened 2020 campaign.

The Mets have been in talks with Bradley Jr. after losing to the Blue Jays in the George Springer squad. The Mets eventually opted for smaller ticket options, signing Kevin Pillar and Albert Almora.

Pillar and Almora are expected to compete for time in midfield with Brandon Nimmo.
