Seven students died and four were injured in a tragic incident in Bolivia when a railing collapsed, sending them to fall from a balcony on the fourth floor.
The wild video of Tuesday’s incident showed a mass of students from the Public University of El Alto wrapped on the balcony before the railing collapsed.
The tragedy happened in the university’s financial sciences building, while students tried to enter a classroom for a meeting.
The footage, obtained by The Sun, also showed a young woman pushing another near the railing a few moments before it collapsed.
Bolivian police commander Jhonny Aguilera Montecinos said on Wednesday that the woman seen in the fight would be questioned during the investigation, local media reported.
Montecinos also attributed the cause of death to the victims as being caused by “multiple traumas”.
“We regret the tragedy that took place at the Public University of #ElAlto (UPEA), where there were several deaths and injuries,” said Bolivian President Luis Arce wrote on Twitter.
“My deepest condolences to the people of El Alto and to the suffering families. We are waiting for the prompt clarification of the facts. ”
