JACKSONVILLE, Florida – Former Notre Dame and NFL football player Louis Neix, who was reported missing earlier this week and found dead on Saturday. He was 29 years old. The cause of death has not been reported.
Nix’s family reported her missing to police Wednesday. After several days of searching, the Sheriff of Jacksonville wrote on Twitter on Saturday at 8 pm that Nix is located, but did not report his condition.

According to the Jacksonville sheriff’s office, Nix was last seen Wednesday at 10 p.m., after leaving his father’s Jacksonville residence. Kelly sent a tweet on Saturday morning, asking for the public’s help in finding him.
Nix was injured in a December shooting while running his car at a gas station near Jacksonville airport. He told social media that he spent 10 days in the hospital and that a bullet bounced off his sternum and entered his lungs.
Nix sang at Raines High School in Jacksonville and played three seasons at Notre Dame before being selected in the third round of Houston Texans in 2014.
