President Luis Abinader stressed on Saturday morning that the Government has started construction in the “Los Alcarrizos” sector and other urban mobility plans.
The president assured that, in the first months of administration, the modernization of the municipality of Los Alcarrizos began, which has historically been the victim of marginalization due to its reduced accessibility.
He added that the construction of the cable car and the ring road have an estimated investment of over 2,000 million pesos, which is ongoing.
According to his statements, he said that the planning phase, the expansion of the subway in this city, will begin this year. Work that will help 500,000 inhabitants to improve their quality of life.
Metro and urban mobility
Abinader said they have already started expanding subway line 2 in Greater Santo Domingo, along with purchasing and incorporating new wagons that will double their current capacity.
He revealed that he plans to incorporate a new transversal mass transport axis that will connect the municipalities to the west-east, at kilometer 9 of Luperón, better known as Plaza de la Bandera and will pass through the entire boulevard 27 de Febrero until it reaches Boca Chica
This project will be realized through public-private collaboration.

He reiterated that in just six months they have already implemented a change in the mobility model by implementing the Corredor Núñez de Cáceres.
