Gilberto ‘Zurdo’ Ramírez signs a promotional agreement with Oscar de la Hoya and Golden Boy Promotions

Undefeated Mexican fighter Gilberto ‘Zurdo’ Ramirez has signed a promotional deal with Golden Boy Promotions for multiple fights.

Mexican Ramirez (41-0, 27 KOs), 29, won the WBO super-middle belt, but after five defenses in the title, he decided to move to the light heavyweight category, where he won two fights.

“They understood the goals and agendas I set for myself and I have full faith in Oscar [De La Hoya] and the team that will fight hard to become a reality “, said Ramírez. “I look forward to working closely with them in this new chapter of my career.”

Ramirez’s goal is a possible world title shot. The last time he wore a belt, he defeated Jesse Hart by a majority decision in 2018 to keep his super-average crown.

Artur Beterbiev has the WBC and IBF lightweight belts, and Dimitry Bivol wears the WBA belt. None of the fighters lost their careers. Beterbiev is fighting next month, while Bivol has not fought since 2019.

Ramírez is the first super-middleweight champion in the history of Mexican boxing.
