Brand new for 2021, the Grand Cherokee finally wins a third row after all these years and with that line adds an L to the model’s name. Jeep released prices for that version today. While the construction and price tool is not yet available on site, Jeep has presented some of the options for all trim levels.
Grand Cherokee L comes in four trims with two different engines and a range of rear-wheel drive systems or three different all-wheel drive systems (Quadra-Trac I, Quadra-Trac II and Quadra-Drive II). There are Laredo, Limited, Overland and Summit finishes. Engine choices are what we would expect from Stellantis. You can choose either Pentastar V6 of 290 horsepower of 3.6 liters, or Hemi V8 of 5.7 liters, 357 hp. All-wheel drive is a $ 2,000 option for each assembly.

Laredo base starts at the $ 36,995 mentioned above. Inside there is a huge standard touch screen. At 10.2 inches it is equipped with the latest generation of the excellent UConnect 5. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are both standard. If you have a family with a bunch of devices, you should have no trouble loading them inside. There are a total of 12 USB ports in different places inside.
There is also the standard suite of driver safety systems, such as lane departure warning, rear transverse route detection and frontal collision warning. Electric folding mirrors, 18-inch wheels, canvas seats and automatic temperature control complete some of the standard features. Comes pretty decently equipped.
The limited cutout follows. Starting at $ 43,995, it is based on Laredo, offering more luxurious features. This is also the whole where, if equipped with all-wheel drive, the management system of the Jeep Selec Terrain is standard. Inside there are standard Capri leather seats with electricity and heating for the first two rows, a premium sound system with six speakers and ambient interior lighting.
The Overland envoy is next in the range. Starting at $ 52,995, this is the model in which the Hemi V8 becomes available. Remember, you can only get all-wheel drive Hemi. Yes, that means you’ll have to spend a lot of money to get V8 power. The V8 is $ 3,295 more than the Overland 4X4 with the V6. This means that a Grand Cherokee L Overland V6 4X4 starts at $ 54,995. So a base Overland 4X4 V8 is almost $ 60,000 to $ 58,290. However, it comes with a luxurious look. There are chrome exterior accents on things like towing hooks and mirrors. You can get a contrasting roof available in glossy black paint, 20-inch wheels and door handles, which light on the approach gives it a great presence. Inside there are heated and cooled Nappa leather seats, an Alpine sound system with nine speakers, panoramic roof and electrically foldable third row, as standard.
The last is the top of the Summit line. Starting at $ 56,995, it’s almost the largest Grand Cherokee L. You can make it even more luxurious with a premium package called Summit Reserve, starting at about $ 62,000. There are padded Nappa leather chairs for all three rows. This is interesting because most car manufacturers that offer leather on three-row vehicles do not usually cover the third row of leather. There is a steering wheel decorated with oak, the driver’s seat adjustable in 16 directions, a five-way massage function for the front seats and air conditioning control in four areas.
Regardless of the Grand Cherokee L model you choose, it will be a well-equipped and spacious addition to the three-row SUV / crossover segment. It would be nice if you could get Hemi V8 on the lower gaskets for buyers who want more towing power at cheap prices. Grand Cherokee L will hit dealers this spring.
