Boeing 777 lands urgently in Moscow

A Boeing 777 cargo plane operated by Rossiya Airlines landed urgently at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo airport on Friday after a problem with the aircraft’s engine control sensor was discovered, according to Reuters.

Rossiya Airlines Flight 4520 was traveling from Hong Kong to Madrid early Friday morning, when the crew landed in Moscow, the press reported.

The plane, reports The New York Times, was a cargo flight and carried 25 people and 36 metric tons of cargo.

“The landing took place normally,” Rossiya told Reuters. The airlines also said that the flight was scheduled to continue to Madrid later on Friday morning.

This is the second recent example of problems with a Boeing 777.

Over the weekend, a Boeing 777 left debris falling in the Denver area after an engine failure. Separately, a Boeing 747 cargo plane had an engine problem while flying over the Netherlands last week.

The plane landing in Russia had a General Electric engine, while the other two planes had engines developed by Pratt & Whitney.
