Forget Oprah – James Corden is available to listen.
The host of the “Late Late Show” recently took the transplant in California, Prince Harry, on a guided tour of Los Angeles, jumping on a double-decker bus for afternoon tea, while Corden pretended to show him Harry the homes of the rich and famous, including what he guessed might have been David Schwimmer’s residence.
Although Corden faked his way through LA buildings, he and Harry stopped by the real house featured in “The Fresh Price of Bel-Air,” where Harry impressed the CBS host by stealing the show’s iconic song.
While there, Harry and Corden met with the family who live in the mansions and joked about buying from them. Although he didn’t break the coveted building, Harry used the bathroom.
Corden also spoke to Harry about why he and his now pregnant wife Meghan Markle not only left the UK, but also chose to resign from their royal positions.
“He never left – he took a step back, rather than down,” Harry, 36, told Corden. “It was a really difficult environment, as I think a lot of people have seen. We all know what the British press can be like and it destroyed my mental health. I said to myself, “This is toxic.”
“So I did what any husband would do and any father would do, I have to get my family out of here.”
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex traded England for $ 14 million in Montecito, California, to raise their young son, Archie, and their growing family. Despite moving all over the pond, Harry insisted that he and Meghan, 39, had not given up their duties.
“It simply came to our notice then. And as for me, whatever decisions are made by that side, I will never stray, “he said. “I will always contribute, but my life is a public service, so wherever I am in the world, it will be the same.”
Harry’s conversation with Corden echoed his and Meghan’s official statement rejecting Queen Elizabeth II’s announcement that the duo had resigned. In the concise answer, the couple said that they are “engaged” in a working life, because it is “universal”.
Meghan briefly appeared on the duo’s FaceTime Harry tour, which she calls “Haz,” to keep her from succumbing to Corden’s pressure to buy the “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” mansion.
“I think we’ve made enough moves,” she said.
Although they will not move to the famous mansion, Harry paid homage to the sitcom by kidnapping his famous intro with a little help from the winner Tony Corden.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s general interview with Oprah Winfrey will air on CBS on March 7.
