Prince Philip, the husband of Queen Elizabeth II, is “well” after spending his sixth night in hospital, according to his nephew, Prince William, Duke of Cambridge.
Guillermo also told the media during a visit to Norfolk that doctors were “following” his grandfather, 99, the BBC reported.
A source at Buckingham Palace quoted by the television network said on Friday that the Duke of Edinburgh would “probably” remain hospitalized until this week, a decision taken by his doctor “with extreme caution”.
Prince Philip, the source said, is in good spirits at King Edward VII Hospital, located in the center of the British capital, London, where he was hospitalized last Tuesday as a “precautionary measure”. Although the exact reason he was hospitalized was not made public, it is known that his condition is not related to COVID-19.
Felipe will turn 100 in June. He announced his retirement from public life in 2017 and is considered the longest-lived active consort in the history of the British royal family. In January, he was vaccinated against coronavirus, like Elizabeth II.
