According to the health department, the decrease in cases can be attributed to a person who is tested in a locality other than the one where he lives or the automation process for electronically reported laboratory results can assign the wrong jurisdiction for a certain postal code.
As of Friday, Virginia Dept. of Health reports held 7,204,657 total test meetings.
The term “test meetings” includes people who have been tested several times because of their profession, high risk status or the need for a negative result in order to return to work. The Department of Health began using this value on May 1st. To find out more, click here.
