Monterrey— The party of eight months in the hospital, of which four in a coma due to Covid-19 and a double lung transplant surgery, is a case that the actor Toño Mauri lived and wants to document to leave his testimony.

“I want to create a series that deals with these cases and others, I see it as a series that we are used to seeing, with the difference that the main subject is this (those who go beyond Covid and delicate operations, such as double lung transplant).

“I want to make a documentary, a testimony with the images I have to take from the beginning until today,” said Mauri, 56.

The singer also said that if he had the opportunity to survive the disease, he wants to pass on his experience to others.

“I only heard about people who died unfortunately, but I didn’t hear much about those who were saved. And I can say that every night I came to believe it was my last day,” he said.

At a press conference, Mauri was sensitive, especially when he talked about the support he has from his wife Carla Alemán Magnani and their children.

“I asked God to help me just because I wanted to see my children again, I asked him with a lot of love, darling, and I know he heard me because He has something for me to do and I think it is related to this testimony, “he added.

The businessman was hospitalized in June last year after being infected with Covid-19, as was his entire family, but he was the only one who was severely affected.

And because of the damage caused by the virus in the lungs, he had to be operated on.

“I entered (the hospital) weighing 64 kilograms, today I weigh 48 kilograms,” he said, “but during this process (of recovery), I see how little by little, with food and exercise, my weight increases. That motivates me, I feel good, I have strength, I see my legs start to move, my hands, my body, my routine, going to the bathroom, it’s the most basic thing, to be able to do this alone ”.

Mauri said he has no brain or motor injuries and that good living habits are a factor in overcoming the contagion.
