Dressed in gray jeans and a white sweatshirt, the offensive leaflet of Querétaro de México, Joshua Canales, landed at San Pedro Sula Airport on Thursday to join the Honduras national under-23 team.
Fabián Coito’s team list for the fifth microcycle and the friendlies against Costa Rica
Canales was summoned by coach Fabián Coito for the friendly matches on the number 5 microcycle that starts today February 18 and ends on February 26 and includes two friendlies against Costa Rica.
“I’m glad to be back in the country. I hadn’t been here for a year and a half. I talked to Coito, I made it clear that it’s not a final decision, when I felt ready, I talked and told him that he wanted to play with Honduras, “he told reporters on arrival.
Joshua had expressed a desire to wear the jersey of the Costa Rican team, which was interested in incorporating it. But the conversation with Coito changed his perspective. He says it was a family decision.
“After receiving the call from both teams, I think I made the best decision,” he added.
The player immediately moved to Siguatepeque to join the Bicolor work at the Hotel de la H. He promised dedication and sacrifice.
The Honduran team is preparing for the CONCACAF Pre-Olympics, which will take place on March 18-30 in Guadalajara and will offer two direct tickets to the Tokyo Olympics.
Honduras is in Group B along with Canada, El Salvador and Haiti. Group A consists of; Mexico, the United States, Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic.
