Andrea Pirlo speaks: “It’s not easy to react when you get such a goal after a minute,” says Juver’s coach. “The players lost their confidence and this influenced their performance for a few minutes. Fortunately we scored an important goal through Chiesa and now we will focus on the return. ”

Pepe speaks: “I studied Juventus well “, says the Porto captain. “The team assimilated very well what the coach asked for. I knew we had to press hard to keep Juventus from playing. In this type of game it is difficult to score goals at home, but we played a great game. ”
22:15
Federico Chiesa speaks: “Our approach was bad and the game became even more difficult for us after that early goal,” he told Eleven Sports. “When you’re not fully focused and you don’t give your best, [teams can] I punish you at this level. ”

At the final whistle: Several Juventus players surrounded the match referee Carlos del Carro, wondering in the strongest terms why he did not give them a penalty for challenging Sanusi on Ronaldo at the end of the game. My reading, for what it’s worth, is that Ronaldo was trying a Cruyff return to the penalty area, he lost his balance and Sanusi just hit him while he was falling. Ergo, no penalty. However, I wouldn’t have been surprised if it had happened and I’m surprised that Mr. Del Carro didn’t even take a look at his monitor on the ground.

Some post-match reflections: Porto will be delighted with the first victory they have ever had at Juventus … of course they will. However, their pleasure on the occasion will be tempered by the knowledge that they could and should have earned much more. The Italian champions stinked at the Estadio do Dragao tonight and were a pale imitation of them. They will be very relieved that they only escaped with a 2-1 defeat and the away goal that came with it behind such a sad performance.

Full time: Porto 2-1 Juventus
Peep! Peep! Peeeeeeep! It all ended in Porto, where the host team won with the strange goal of three.
21:55
90 + 3 min: A late attack from Juventus. Cristiano Ronaldo appealed for a penalty after falling into a pile under a push from Zaido Sanusi while trying to control a long ball over De Ligt. There is no doubt that he received a push, but he was already on the ground when he came.
21:52
90 + 2 min: Alex Sandro was given a chance to change things around Mehdi Taremi while the striker went into Juve’s penalty area. It’s just a reservation because Matthijs De Ligt was nearby. From a free kick, Szczesny gives up the ball, but escapes with it.

90 + 1 min: Porto brings two more subs in an attempt to run permanently, including the son of their manager Francisco.
21:49
89 min: There is no bad victory against Juventus, but if it stays that way, Porto will be disappointed, they received a goal away. The Italian match was so bad for most of tonight’s match that they could not complain if they left the Estadio do Dragao on the wrong end of a hiding place. As things stand, they will consider this an extraordinary result. Pirlo’s replacements saved his team’s bacon.
21:46
87 min: Porto approaches while Mateus Uribe fixes the ball over a Juve defender on Taremi’s chest. Before he can shoot the trigger from four or five meters, the ball is taken to the corner by De Ligt. Nothing comes from the fixed part.

Juventus pulls one back. Coming in from the right wing, Adrien Rabiot found the back of the goal for Porto. Federico Chiesa meets him for the first time at about 14 meters from the goal, stabbing the ball into the ground and moving away from the celebration, while he jumps up and passes the Marchesin.

68 min: Enterprising things from Jesus Corona, who sitting with his back to the Juve goal at about 20 meters, throws the ball in the air to set his own acrobatic bike shot. His effort was surpassed by the bar by Szczesny, but it would not have mattered if he had entered. The referee saw one violation or another.

46 min: Play redsumes without staff changes on either side. I was surprised that Alvaro Morata was not sent to beat Pirlo, as Dejan Kusulevski had a hard time.

At the break: FC Porto 1-0 Juventus
Peep! This is your team for the first half, which started at the worst possible start for Juventus, when Mehdi Taremi threw himself on an error by Rodrigo Bentancur to beat an opportunistic goal. Juve were surprisingly lazy and already look really devoid of ideas. I guess we’ll see a change or two from Andrea Pirlo before too long. He was so comfortable for Porto, whose defense seemed remarkably assured.
20:46
45 + 1 min: Ronaldo tries to get hold of the ball but it slips out of his hands.
20:45

20:43
41 min: Another free kick from the same area. The ball is sent back to the far post and breaks it to Adrien Rabiot, whose header is saved by Marchesin, who clears it. It was a spectacular effort, but it had no venom. It was also Juve’s first shot on target.
20:40
40 min: Free kick from Juve, wide to the right after a foul by Sergio Oliveira on Matthijs De Ligt. Bentancur finally receives a right and chooses Cristiano Ronaldo in the long distance. His descending header does not bother Marchesin.
