SOLIDARITY – Jordan donates ten million to clinics in North Carolina

Michael Jordan donated $ 10 million to set up two medical clinics in disadvantaged communities near his hometown in North Carolina, a regional health system announced Monday.

Novant Health clinics would open in early 2022 in New Hanover County on the southeast coast of North Carolina, according to a statement from the system. The donation is one of the largest ever made by the Basketball Hall of Famer, according to press reports.

Earlier, Jordan donated $ 7 million to launch the Michael Jordan Family Clinics in Charlotte in 2019 and 2020.

These clinics treated more than 4,500 patients and administered approximately 1,000 COVID-19 vaccines, Novant Health said.

I am very proud to work with Novant Health again to expand the Family Clinic model to provide better access to critical health care in my city, ”Jordan said in a statement.
