Dominican player Bartolo Colón, who has been in professional baseball since 1994, plans to climb a mound in 2021 for Aceceros de Monclova in the Mexican Baseball League.
Colón began his professional career in the Appalachian League 27 years ago. The Dominican spent 21 years in the major leagues, during which time he was called up to four All-Star games and won a Cy Young award.
He is the Latin American-born pitcher with the most major victories with 247.
Colón, 47, last played in the major leagues for the Rangers in 2018, a season in which he was 7-12 with an ERA of 5.78.
Ohtans without limits
Angels and catchers officially reported on the Arizona team’s spring complex on Tuesday, but the main topic of conversation during Master Joe Maddon’s virtual press conference was the status of Shohei Ohtani.
Ohtani, who avoided salary arbitration by signing a $ 8.5 million two-year contract on Feb. 8, had a normal winter.
The Japanese left is completely healthy after suffering a tense elbow / forearm last year, a condition that allowed him to make only two starts.
The Angels will try again to use Ohtani as a multi-faceted player, although the club has not revealed an official plan to dictate how often the Japanese will play and serve as the designated hitter.

“The reports I’ve received are very good, honestly,” he said.
“I am just as excited to see this as everyone else. If we get Shohei on the right track, it will be a pretty good winter purchase. We’ve seen what he’s capable of, “he said.
