BASEBALL – Bartolo Colón brings talent to Mexico

But a man, a baseball player, plays a kind of professional ball from the ’94 season. And it will continue to do so in 2021.

Colon began his professional career with the Burlington Indians in the Appalachian League 27 years ago. He spent 21 years in the major leagues, setting a Latin American record of 247 wins, playing four All-Star games and taking home the 2005 Cy Young League Award. The 47-year-old last played in MLB for the Rangers in 2018, with a record of 7-12 under par and an ERA of 5.78. However, he had a few bright spots, including almost a perfect game against the reigning world champion Astros and throwing a 100 mph line on his stomach.

In fact, Colón signed with Acereros de Monclava last season, but the Mexican Baseball League never started because of Covid-19.

They won the league title in 2019, leading 49 home runs by former baseball player Chris Carter. If the list stays the same from that year, Colón will join a team full of former MLBs, including Carter, Eric Young Jr., Erick Aybar, Francisco Rodríguez, Al Alburquerque and the 45-year-old base, chosen by the extraordinary Rubén Rivera .

Time will tell if the Steelers choose to use Colon as a pitcher or a beater.
