The snow is moving from Tennessee, but the roads are still frozen

NASHVILLE, Tennessee (WTVF) – Snow, sleet and freezing rain have moved from Middle Tennessee and Kentucky, but frozen road conditions remain. Officials are urging people to stay home again.

Numerous accidents were reported on Monday, as travel conditions deteriorated throughout the day. Overnight, the snow stopped, but temperatures will reach the 20s only on Tuesday, so the roads will not have a chance to thaw.

During a Tuesday update, a TDOT snow removal operator gave tips on how to drive in freezing conditions.

Every county in Middle Tennessee reports icy road conditions.

Reporter Aaron Cantrell and photojournalist Quan McWil were able to help a driver in Nashville who got stuck on Tuesday morning.

To make matters worse, temperatures are not expected to exceed freezing until later this week. Another winter storm appears to be moving late Wednesday through Thursday, bringing more ice and snow.
