An 18-year-old woman from Santa Barbara was arrested on Sunday after she stabbed an acquaintance several times in a house on the Mesa, according to the Santa Barbara Police Department.

Cora Vides
Cora Vides has been remanded in custody in Santa Barbara County on suspicion of attempted murder, police spokeswoman Anthony Wagner told Noozhawk.
Vides, described in the prison case as a student, remained in custody Monday Monday afternoon, on $ 1 million bail, according to the sheriff’s department.
The adult victim, whose name has not been released, suffered “life-threatening but very serious injuries,” Wagner said, and was treated at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
He said officers responded to the hospital and a “crime scene” on block 600 on Roberto Avenue, a block east of Meigs Road, in a residential neighborhood just north of Cliff Drive.
Wagner said he could not provide further details about the victim, including sex. However, sources told Noozhawk that the victim is a young woman and also a student.
“This was an isolated incident,” Wagner said, “and there does not appear to be any immediate threat to the public.”
Monday was the holiday of the presidents’ day, so no criminal complaint was filed in this case, according to the district prosecutor’s office.
