pitchers Rich Hill and Collin McHugh agree with the Tampa Bay Rays

Rich Hill and Collin McHugh have agreed to one-year contracts with the Tampa Bay Rays, according to several reports.

Hill, a 40-year-old southpaw who has played for nine other teams in just over 16 seasons in the major leagues, won a $ 2.5 million contract. He is 67-44 years old, with a career ERA of 3.79 in his runs with the Dodgers, Cubs, Orioles, Red Sox, Indians, Angels, Yankees, Athletics and Twins.

The starter was 30-16 with an ERA 3.16 between 2016 and 2019 with the Dodgers and was 2-2 with an ERA 3.03 with the Gemini in the 2020 season shortened by the pandemic.

McHugh, 33, was both a starter and reliever for eight seasons with the Mets, Rockies and Astros, with a 58-43 record and an ERA of 3.95. The left signed with Boston in 2020, but gave up the short season while recovering from injury.

Hill and McHugh are the latest additions to the pitching team that Tampa Bay is renewing after winning the American League flag last season.

The team refused to exercise option on the right Charlie Morton and changed the 2018 LA Cy Young winner Blake Snell, creating rotating spaces that were filled with the off-season signing of Michael Wacha and Chris Archer.

Hill and McHugh can potentially add both rotation and bullpen.
