Alonso recovers from a bicycle accident

Fernando Alonso will fully recover from the operation he underwent after suffering a broken jaw in an accident while riding a bicycle, his Formula 1 Alpine team reported on Friday.

Alonso was hospitalized on Thursday after an accident in Switzerland and will remain under observation for 48 hours.
“After a few days of rest, you can slowly resume training,” Alpine said in a statement. “We hope he will fully recover and be able to prepare for the season.”
Rehearsals for the 2021 season begin on March 12 at the Doe Bahrain Circuit. The first race on the calendar is scheduled for March 28, on the same stage.
Alonso, 39, has 32 F1 victories and 97 podiums. He had not run since he left McLaren at the end of 2018 and this year he returns to the category.
The Spaniard has won two world titles with Renault and returns to that team, which changed its name and was renamed Alpine.
