Three women are suspected of stealing vehicles and credit cards in Tegucigalpa

Tegucigalpa, Honduras.

In a police operation in the populated Kenndey district of the Honduran capital, three women were arrested on Saturday on suspicion of various crimes in the area, including vehicle theft and membership in a notorious criminal gang. “Blondele”, reported the National Police.

Monitoring and surveillance work in the area triggered the capture of suspects in an operation set up by officers assigned to the Department of Property Crimes within the Police Investigation Directorate, IPR.

Among the detainees, all identified as individual traders, are a 35-year-old woman, another 33 and the last 22. They will be charged with crimes of fraud in its degree of execution of the unfinished trial, theft and conspiracy to commit a crime against two protected witnesses.

The operation began on February 9, when the National Police received a complaint by phone call in which a protected witness claimed to be a victim of robbery by suspects.

The individual said that, that day, he was with his wife in a restaurant in Tegucigalpa; As he exited the unit and headed for his vehicle, he noticed that the driver’s side door had been opened. Upon entering it, he realized that his backpack had been stolen.

Inside, the witness was wearing a laptop, rated at 49,000 lempiras. In addition to his wife’s phone chargers and purse carrying debit and bank cards.

After the event, the citizen’s wife received a notification by mobile phone in which the banking institution indicated that the debit card was refused in a supermarket, for a purchase worth 5,000 lempiras.

Three days later, after investigations and location work, police officers decided to organize an operation at one of the main entrances in the Kennedy neighborhood, where the women were found and will be captured.

Several credit and debit cards, vehicle keys and mobile phones were confiscated from the suspects. The protected witness indicated that the stolen computer was sold by women. In an investigation that used mobile phones as evidence, the buyer was identified, so that elements of the National Police recovered the object.

The detainees will be directed, informed the police authorities, to the Prosecutor’s Office among the region, for the corresponding investigation and prosecution process.
