COVID-19 vaccination clinic will open in Vista News

A new COVID-19 vaccination site will open on February 14 in Vista, capable of delivering up to 500 doses a day.

The new clinic will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday and Monday at the Linda Rhoades Recreation Center, 600 North Santa Fe Ave.

All county top vaccination stations and distribution points or PODs currently vaccinate people in phase 1A and people aged 65 and over in phase 1B. All require appointments that can be made at vaccinationsuperstationsd.com. Please note that the Petco Park vaccination station will not vaccinate people for three days due to a delay in transporting a Modern vaccine.

County-funded community health agencies, known as promoters, target people 65 and older in National City, Chula Vista, Imperial City and San Ysidro directly to help them make vaccination schedules.

The metropolitan transit system offers free travel to people with proof of a vaccination meeting. 2-1-1 San Diego and the promoters also have the ability to arrange transportation.

To date, more than 703,000 doses of COVID-19 have been delivered to the region with nearly 570,000 administered. The difference between the two numbers is roughly what is expected to be administered over the next seven days and doses to be entered into the registration system. Those vaccinated to date include more than 104,000 San Diegans who are fully vaccinated, while 15.8% of the population over the age of 16 have received at least one dose. More information about the distribution of vaccines can be found on the county dashboard.
