The sequel to Downton Abbey is set to begin filming in late March or early April in accordance with the strictest Covid safety protocols.

Downton 2 will be the last hour of Countess Dowager of Grantham. The theatrical lady has delighted Downton fans since the series, created by Julian Fellowes, was launched on ITV in 2010.

In the new film Downton, Mrs. Baye will play the role of an old friend of Violet, who comes to visit her. Of course, the countess will be surrounded, as usual, by her family – including Lord Hugh’s Grantham and Elizabeth McGovern as Cora’s wife.

Lady Mary and Michelle Dockery’s husband Henry (Matthew Goode) will also be in the center of the stage; with her sister, Lady Edith, played by Laura Carmichael.
