Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment confirmed today that Division 2 will receive more content this year, doubling the statements made by Ubisoft’s CEO earlier this week, during a call with investors.

The current season of Division 2 is called “End of viewing“And ends a story and an arc of characters that started until the first game. This fact, along with news about Division 2 Massive developer is working on a new great Star Wars game, has led many players to speculate that the latest update, Title update 12, was the last planned content update.

Looks like those players They were correct. But since then, plans have changed. Massive announced today on Twitter and Reddit that TU12 was indeed the final update planned for the game, but that the studio is changing course now. It will release more content later this year, but had no further details to distribute at this time.

“Today we are pleased to confirm that there will be additional content for Division 2 released later this year! Your passion and continuous support allow us to continue to build Division 2 experience and we can’t thank you enough for that. ”

News about more Division 2 the content was first vaguely announced by Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot earlier this week. During a February 12 call with investors, said that Massive will collaborate with other Ubisoft studios in the series. “It simply came to our notice then divided this year and next, ”said Guillemot. Today’s announcement from Massive specifies that players can search for more Division 2 content and not a new big sequel to the looter-shooter franchise. Beyond that, though, Massive’s announcement is vague and doesn’t really explain what kind of content will be added or when, beyond this year. It was almost as if they didn’t know there would be more content until Guillemot said so.

I don’t expect one Warlords of New York-DLC size is set to be released this year, but instead several seasons of content with small new missions and a few new weapons added every few months. Not very interesting, but for fans Division 2 at least the game is not dead.
