“Hey Lou” is the latest single from Phair’s next studio album Sober. The song was produced by her longtime collaborator Brad Wood. Among the songs, Phair said in a press release: “Have you ever wondered what love looks like for your favorite couple of celebrities behind closed doors? Hey Lou imagines a day in the life of two music legends, whose union was an inspiration for rock bands and a source of curiosity for dead romantics. ”
Phair shared her latest single “Good Side” in October 2019, coinciding with the release of her memoir “Horror Stories”. She released Girly-Sound to Guyville: The 25th Anniversary Box Set in 2018; her last original music LP was in 2010 Funstyle. At the announcement Sober, Fair said the recording appeared “temporarily” last summer. The album hasn’t materialized yet.
