Born in El Progreso, Yoro, after two weeks of training with Olimpia, spoke exclusively with Diario Diez and did not hide any details, since he was a child his feeling was blue and now his dream is to be a lion champion.

How did you get into the ranks of Olympia?

I told my wife about it and she was thinking of going to Tegus, a little more because her family is here (SPS) and I talked about it and with my parents, they told me to think about it and that it is good my family.

Was it a dream for you to play at Olympia?
Sure, it’s a dream that every player wants to be there. My dream when I was in the Marathon reserves was to play with the first team and God is already setting other goals, new goals and, finally, he has reached Olympia. I am grateful for this opportunity that was given to me and I must take advantage of it.

As a child, what team did you follow?
hahaha when I was little I was a fan of Motagua because the whole Banegas family is Motagua, they took us to the stadium in San Pedro, El Progreso, but when the opportunity came to join the basic forces of the Marathon I did not hesitate, from the moment what you always dreamed of doing great things and playing in the National League. For so long in the Marathon I had a great affection for him and that feeling will always be there, but at this moment I thought about it for my family.

What really happened to your departure from the Marathon?
For days I thought about not continuing in the Marathon because of many personal things I go through, this is how God opens the doors and I received the call from Osman. I’ve always heard the word Marathon for myself, but no agreement was reached and here I am at Olympia.

Did you talk to Héctor Vargas about your departure and what did he tell you?
Professor Vargas took it very well, calmly, I was talking and I will always be grateful to him because he always puts us in his head to be positive. He is very grateful for the time I have worked and wishes me well wherever I go.

Were you worried about the economic situation in the Marathon?
Yes, unfortunately things did not go well in the Marathon due to the causes that happened to the virus and it is not good from a financial point of view. The hurricanes and the city where my family is are not left because of the passage of water and God opens the doors and so he can reach Olympia.

Was there no opportunity for other teams?
Yes, there were others who called me, but the one I liked the most and was most interested in was the one from Olimpia.

How were your first days with Olympia?
They were very good, my teammates treated me excellently, Professor Troglio and the coaching staff received me in the best way. I adapt to give myself strength and always give everything I can.

How was the change of city?
The weather is sometimes frozen in the morning and in the afternoon, but normal, calm and I adapt slowly.

Is the change from Olympia to Marathon as great as they say?
I think that every player has his mentality, but mine is to give up everything, to want to play and if I am allowed to be a starter. In each team there is a healthy fight for who wants to play and be a starter, but I will work on this and the opportunity that the teacher offers me must be used to the fullest.

Other players who came from the north coast weighed the change
There I had colleagues who went there and I consulted them, I say that it is difficult to adapt, but this is about everyone’s mentality and mine is positive. I will try to take advantage of the opportunity that the teacher offers me.

Aren’t you afraid that if you’re a Marathon captain, you’ll have to go to Olympia?
No, I’m not afraid of that, my mentality is to want to play and what I want is to adapt to everything, to the city, to the weather and I think every day that, if possible, God reach.

How was your first crossword with Troglio? What he said?
The teacher is very calm and talked to me about how he deals with the group, what he asks, what to do and always to receive me.

From Vargas’ idea of ​​the game to Troglio’s, what’s the difference?
The difference is not big. With Vargas, the mentality must always be winning, and Troglio the same and even more so, knowing that Olimpia is more demanding for international tournaments, and the mentality must be winning from pre-season to the last tournament in which you have to lift a cup. .

What will the fight for a position be like with Deiby Flores, Patón and Carlos Pineda?
There is competition in every team and I always hope to compete, first with me and with the opportunity that Professor Troglio offers me, I will make the most of it. There will always be healthy competition and everyone is there to support each other.

Now that you’re in Olympia, do you think you’ll be called up to the national team?
Yes, I think so, being in Olimpia is closer to being in the national team than being able to be considered, and the mentality of being in Olimpia is to be in the national team, because the player who is there is privileged. The idea is to be able to do things well and tomorrow is a call, because you have to give everything.

Do you dream of wearing the national team jersey?
Yeah sure. I was in U-23 because I was in Brazil and it is a very nice experience and hopefully it can be offered to the major. Play qualifiers or take part in a World Cup, where every player dreams of being there.

Do you see yourself playing a tie or do you think there is no more space?
I didn’t think about it, first I try to play in Olympia and if Professor Coito can call me, I’m grateful and I’ll give it my all.

The truth is that I did not have such a conversation with Professor Coito, I did not have any contact with him or with the coaching staff, but I am preparing first at Olimpia.

What do you promise when you arrive at Olympia?
I promise dedication, sacrifice, effort, I leave everything on the field and I help the team to contribute, either on or off the field. I have to stand out, Olimpia is fighting for titles and you have to try to untie everything, either nationally or internationally.

Your best friend when you get to Olympia?
