The initiative of the brand that celebrates the Dominican Republic and for Homeland Month is called “El mangú en la RAE”, so that this word is included in its dictionary and officially recognized worldwide.
“Because being Dominican is the best, in this month of the country we want everyone, both in the country and abroad, to join the petition to officially add the name of our iconic national dictionary, mangú, in the dictionary of royal Spanish. Academy (RAE). Mangu is a gastronomic expression that represents us, a single word with great historical, cultural and gastronomic significance “, said Madelyn Martínez, Vice President of Marketing and Financial Retail at Centro Cuesta Nacional.
The word mangú describes the typical Dominican dish of boiled green plantain and puree. It has gained relevance over the years and has transcended to have literary works, in local and international television series and films.
