London Fire Department (LFB) was called to the six on Saturday at 18:36, where they deployed twelve fire engines and about eighty firefighters to deal with the fire in Chessington Business Park. LFB did not find anyone injured in the fire, but a warehouse was destroyed.
Kirsty Woodcock, head of the UK’s marketing department for Specialized, told Cycling Weekly: Fortunately, no one was injured, but unfortunately the fire had a devastating effect on our offices. There will be some short-term changes to certain business operations, but our warehouse is elsewhere, and riders should not be worried. ”
Neil Guyett, the LFB station commander who attended the scene, said: “Fire crews arrived to find a well-developed fire and worked hard to control it in what was a prolonged incident. Thick smoke came out over the business park. “
The cause of the fire is unknown, but the LFB investigation unit and the Metropolitan Police Service are now investigating what could have started the fire.
